Report on:
Saturday, March 1, An Afternoon with Doug Brown

On Saturday, March 1, we had a unique opportunity to learn from our own world-renowned expert Dr. H. Douglas Brown
about how to teach English to our non-English-speaking neighbors and friends.  Doug presented an excellent seminar, helping us understand why people fail to learn sometimes and how to unblock those channels. Doug dispelled myths about how languages should be taught and gave us some practical tips and pointers for teaching people whose native languages we don't know.

We are surrounded by people who are in desperate need to learn English.  After this training we plan to organize classes or tutorials to fit the needs of the people, especially those at Casa Montego next door to Shell Ridge.
If you're interested in the follow-up teaching/tutoring, please call church office (925-935-3250) or Sandy Mitchell (925-687-3976).
